- Community Schools
We continue to closely monitor wildfire activity around our community in partnership with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and the Boulder Office of Emergency Management. Firefighters have done an outstanding job closing the spread of the Cal-Wood and Lefthand Canyon Fires, and we are incredibly appreciative of their hard work and dedication to protecting our communities. We must remain vigilant and prepared for any changes to the fire’s activity, particularly with high winds forecasted for this afternoon through Thursday morning. Out of an abundance of caution, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office has requested that we extend our closure of in-person learning at school in Lyons through the end of this week.
Beginning Monday, October 5, we will be implementing a hybrid in-person learning schedule for all students who are not currently enrolled in the LaunchED program. Click here to learn more. It is our mission to give each student the opportunity to continually learn according to his or her ability and to create a safe and caring school that is attentive to the academic and emotional needs of the Sanborn community.
Sanborn has a very "small school" atmosphere. With incredible parent involvement, caring staff, a beautiful campus, Sanborn is the place where "everybody knows your name."
Hours: 8:30 - 3:00 p.m. Students should arrive at school no earlier than 8:15 unless they are attending a school function that starts earlier. Students who eat breakfast at school may arrive at 8 a.m.
For security reasons all of our entrances are locked during school hours. We utilize a new and innovative security system at our front door. Parents will need to ring the doorbell, identify themselves through the camera system and will then be granted access to the school when the office personnel unlock the front door remotely. All visitors are required to sign in at the office and wear a visitor badge while in the school.
Approximately 69% of our students are open enrolled. This means that over half of our students choose to attend Sanborn even though they do not reside in our neighborhood.
We at Sanborn are committed to:
