Dear Sanborn Families,
I hope this message finds you warm and well during this extreme cold snap! As temperatures drop outside, I want to remind everyone to bundle up and stay safe. The good news is that warmer weather is on the horizon, and I know we’re all looking forward to it.
In the meantime, we’re heating things up at Sanborn! Our incredible staff and students are hard at work preparing for Student-Led Parent-Teacher Conferences, which will take place in February. These conferences provide an amazing opportunity for your child to take ownership of their learning journey and showcase their growth.
Additionally, please mark your calendars for a Late Start on February 5th. Thank you for your continued cooperation and support as we navigate the busy months ahead.
Together, we’re making this school year one to remember. Go Dragons!
Warm regards,
Lori Peeples
Principal, Sanborn Elementary

Fostering Independence and Responsibility
Developing independence and responsibility are key components of your child’s growth. Start by assigning age-appropriate tasks at home, such as packing their own school bag or organizing their homework. Encourage your child to take ownership of their actions, whether it’s remembering daily routines or following through on commitments. This builds self-confidence and helps them understand the value of accountability. By gradually allowing more independence, your child learns to problem-solve and manage their own responsibilities, both at school and at home.
