Dear Sanborn Families,
The energy and enthusiasm in our school are palpable, and I’m thrilled to share that our students are off to a fantastic start. Diagnostic testing is currently underway to help us understand their strengths and areas for growth, allowing us to tailor our instruction to their individual needs. Moreover, our young learners are actively setting goals for the upcoming winter diagnostic test, fostering a sense of ownership over their academic journey. In our classrooms, there’s an unmistakable buzz of excitement, as teachers deliver fun and engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and foster a love of learning. I am looking forward to witnessing the continued growth and success of our students!  DRAGONS SOAR!!!

Sincerely,

 Mrs. PeeplesPrincipal

Chick Fil A Partnership:  We are thrilled to announce our continued partnership with Chick-Fil-A in Longmont for the upcoming school year. Once again, Chick-Fil-A will generously provide our students with SOARing Student Lunches, a delightful treat that adds an extra layer of excitement to our Late Start days. These delicious Chick-Fil-A lunches will be delivered directly to the school, offering a special experience for selected SOARing students who exemplify the values of Safety, Ownership, Achievement, and Respect. These exceptional individuals will have the privilege of dining at our V.I.P. table alongside their fellow SOARing peers, creating a sense of camaraderie and celebration within our school community. Classrooms carefully select these students based on their observable acts of kindness and character, and we’re truly fortunate to have Chick-Fil-A’s support in recognizing and rewarding these exemplary behaviors. We’re looking forward to another fantastic year of fostering positivity and growth in our students through this wonderful partnership!

DRAGON DROPS

Nurturing your child’s math skills at home can be a rewarding and enjoyable experience. Here are some tips to help you support their mathematical development:

1. **Everyday Math:** Incorporate math into everyday activities like cooking, shopping, or measuring. This hands-on approach helps children see the real-world relevance of math.

2. **Math Games:** Engage in math-related games and puzzles that make learning fun. Board games, card games, and online math apps can be excellent resources.

3. **Math Talk:** Encourage your child to explain their thought process when solving math problems. This promotes a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts.

4. **Math Reading:** Explore math-themed books and stories together. Reading about math can spark curiosity and build math vocabulary.

5. **Positive Attitude:** Maintain a positive attitude towards math, emphasizing that making mistakes is part of the learning process. Avoid expressing any math anxiety you may have.

By integrating these practices into your daily routine, you can help your child build confidence and enthusiasm for math, setting them up for success in school and beyond.
