DRAGON DROPS
Happy New Year! Let’s make resolutions a family affair that’s both fun and educational. Here are tips to incorporate science, reading, math, and writing into your little ones’ resolutions:
1. Science Adventures: Set a resolution like “Weekly Nature Walks” or “Experiment Saturdays” for scientific exploration. Dive into the wonders of discovery with books like “The Darkest Dark” by Chris Hadfield or “Ada Twist, Scientist” by Andrea Beaty.
2. Reading Goals: Cultivate a love for reading with a family reading goal. Choose a certain number of books or explore a new genre together. Get started with engaging reads like “The Book with No Pictures” by B.J. Novak or “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle.
3. Math Missions: Infuse math into resolutions with activities like “Math Game Nights” or “Problem-Solving Puzzles.” Inspire numerical thinking with books like “The Grapes of Math” by Greg Tang or “One Is a Snail, Ten Is a Crab” by April Pulley Sayre.
4. Writing Adventures: Spark creativity by incorporating writing into resolutions. Try “Family Journaling” or “Storytelling Sundays.” Encourage imagination with books like “The Day the Crayons Quit” by Drew Daywalt or “Dear Juno” by Soyung Pak.
Resolutions are a chance to bond, learn, and have fun as a family. Wishing you a year filled with joy and shared accomplishments!
