Dear Dragon Families,
As we head into the final few days before winter break, I want to take a moment to celebrate all the joy and excitement we’ve experienced here at Sanborn over the past few weeks! Our halls have been buzzing with festive cheer, from the Grinch-y door decorations that have truly been works of art to the amazing 3rd-grade music program last week that filled our hearts with holiday spirit. We can’t wait for tomorrow night’s choir performance, which promises to be another wonderful showcase of our talented students!
It’s been so much fun seeing everyone embrace the winter dress-up days—from silly hair creations to all the incredible school spirit displayed around campus. These moments remind us how special our Sanborn community truly is.
A quick reminder: There will be no school on Friday, December 20th, as we begin our winter break. I hope all of our families enjoy a restful and joyful time together, filled with memorable activities and moments that warm your hearts. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday, January 7th to kick off a brand-new year together.
Wishing you all a wonderful break and happy holidays!
Warm regards,
Lori Peeples

Balancing Screen Time and Family Time
In today’s digital age, it’s important to help your child find balance between screen time and other activities. While technology offers educational benefits, too much screen time can interfere with sleep, physical activity, and face-to-face interactions. Set clear limits on the use of devices, and create designated screen-free times, such as during meals or before bed. Encourage family activities that don’t involve screens, like playing board games, going for walks, or reading together. By maintaining balance, your child learns to enjoy technology responsibly while still engaging meaningfully with the world around them.
