Hello Dragon Families,

As many of you know, the district shared news last week about the recommended consolidation of Sanborn Elementary with Northridge Elementary, beginning with the 2027-2028 school year. I know this news has brought up a lot of emotions for our families, and I want you to know that I share in those feelings but also believe that, while difficult, this is the right strategic decision for the district.

For full details about the consolidation plan and what it means for your family, please refer to the letter from Superintendent Dr. Jackie Kapushion that was sent on January 14. If you haven’t yet had a chance to attend a community meeting, there is one more opportunity this evening—Tuesday, January 20, at 6:00 p.m. in the Sanborn library. Childcare will be provided by our P-TEACH students. I encourage you to attend if you’re able.

In the meantime, please know that our focus remains on your children. Sanborn is a special place, and the connections we’ve built here matter deeply. We are committed to making this year and next as wonderful as possible for every Sanborn student.

Sincerely,

Lori Peeples

Principal

For existing students who did not opt in at beginning of the school year, parents can pay for insurance for the remainder of the school year for $12.50.  THE IPAD WILL HAVE TO BE INSPECTED AT SCHOOL BEFORE WE CAN OFFER THAT INSURANCE TO YOU. ALSO–ALL UNPAID INSURANCE FEE BALANCES MUST BE PAID.

Staying Organized
Keeping organized can feel overwhelming. Help your child declutter their backpack, organize school supplies, and refresh their homework space. Creating a tidy, organized environment helps students feel focused and ready to learn. A little time spent organizing now saves stress later!
