3-3-26

Hello Dragon Families,

March is here! It will be interesting to see if it comes in like a lion, but we always love when it goes out like a lamb. Spring break is fast approaching, and shortly after we return, our third, fourth, and fifth graders will begin CMAS testing. Our students and staff have truly been putting their noses to the grindstone — learning, growing, and preparing each day. We are proud of the focus and effort happening in classrooms across Sanborn.

As we look ahead, I also want to gently remind families, in connection with the Sanborn consolidation, to please complete the Student Enrollment Confirmation form that was sent yesterday. This form confirms your student’s spot at your desired school for the 2026–2027 school year. Your timely response helps us plan carefully and support a smooth transition for everyone.

Thank you for your continued partnership and cooperation! GO DRAGONS!!

Sincerely,

Lori Peeples

Principal

Sanborn – North Ridge Consolidation Information

Sanborn Consolidation:

Enrollment Confirmation Form: Action Required

It is now essential that every Sanborn family complete our Enrollment Confirmation Form so that we can collect accurate data to finalize the staffing plan for next school year and provide families with clear information on what to expect.

  • Staying at Sanborn:
If you plan to stay at Sanborn for the 2026-2027 school year, please click here to complete the enrollment confirmation form for each student who will be enrolling at Sanborn. We are also asking you to share your initial thoughts on where you plan to enroll your student for the 2027-2028 school year. This information will help us prepare for any facility construction or changes that may be needed at Northridge or other area elementary schools to accommodate enrollment growth.
  • Open Enrolling at Another School:
If you are planning to open enroll your student to another school for the 2026-2027 school year,  please click here to complete the open enrollment request form so that our enrollment team can begin processing your open enrollment request.

If you need assistance accessing or completing your enrollment verification form, there are kiosks and support available in the Sanborn front office.

If You Are Unsure About Your Plans

We understand that some families may still be uncertain about their plans for next school year. However, it is important that we begin collecting accurate enrollment data, and we ask that you make a decision about your preference for next year at this time. Your decision is not final. If, after seeing the finalized staffing plan for next school year, you feel that your choice is no longer appropriate for your family, you will have the opportunity to adjust your enrollment preference before the start of the school year.

Next Steps

  • Complete the Enrollment Confirmation Form by Monday, March 9
  • Thursday, April 2, 2026:   We will host a community meeting from 5:30-7:00 to review Sanborn’s projected enrollment and staffing plan for the 2026-2027 school year.

Following the staffing plan presentation:
Opportunity will be provided to adjust your enrollment if needed.

  • T‑Shirt Eligibility: K–5 students and staff who submit their logs online and earn 80+ checks will receive a free T‑shirt. Shirts will arrive by the first week of May
  • Every Log Counts: We want everyone to submit a log—even if they didn’t earn a T‑shirt. Logs with 10+ checks boost your school’s participation rate and can help your school earn wellness initiative funding.

AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT CLASSES FOR MARCH

Image of a Colorado C in red & yellow, text: Rock the CMAS Test.

CMAS Testing Window

Beginning on April 7th – April 24th, 2026, Colorado students in grades 3 through 5 will be participating in CMAS, which measures student proficiency on the Colorado Academic Standards. These standards serve as clear guidelines for what students should know and be able to do by the end of the academic year across various grade levels and subject areas. The assessments cover English language arts and math for grades 3-5, and science for grade 5. CMAS is a critical tool in assessing student progress and ensuring that our educational system is meeting the needs of our students. To help your child perform their best on these assessments, it is essential that they are well-rested and present during their scheduled testing. To avoid missed instruction due to makeup testing, we kindly request that appointments and vacations be scheduled for non-testing days.

Staying Motivated Through Spring Fever
As the weather warms up, it’s normal for students to get restless. Keep motivation high by setting short-term goals and using positive reinforcement. Build in movement breaks and, when possible, take homework or reading outside. A change of scenery can re-energize learning and make spring a productive season.

Image of a computer screen with the text: Register For iPad Insurance

The district is offering Half Year iPad insurance for new students, as well as current students who did not opt into insurance at the beginning of the school year.

As new students enroll, they will automatically be assigned the $12.50 fee with an expiration date of 2 weeks.  Parents will have 2 weeks to pay the fee before it is automatically voided.

For existing students who did not opt in at beginning of the school year, parents can pay for insurance for the remainder of the school year for $12.50.  THE IPAD WILL HAVE TO BE INSPECTED AT SCHOOL BEFORE WE CAN OFFER THAT INSURANCE TO YOU. ALSO–ALL UNPAID INSURANCE FEE BALANCES MUST BE PAID.

If you have any questions, please call our office at 303-772-3838.  Thank you!!!
