I was born and raised in Greeley, Colorado. I currently live in Lyons, Colorado. From an early age I loved being around water. It got me onto swimming and diving teams, lifeguarding, teaching swim lessons and coaching high school diving. I went to college to be in the medical field and worked in hospitals doing cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation. I enjoyed working with people but missed teaching and coaching. I returned to college to get a teaching degree and have enjoyed it ever since. I’ve been at Sanborn since 2003. I teach a variety of sports and activities that develop motor skills, teamwork, confidence and an enjoyment of being healthy. My favorite units are Climbing, Team Handball and Heart City. I continue to coach the SVVSD high school and middle school diving teams. In my free time I still love to be around water. My family and I go to rivers and lakes to fish, paddleboard, canoe, kayak, tube and have a blast. If we are not close to water, we are on mountain bikes or on a trail hiking towards water. I feel grateful to have a family, live in a beautiful state, and have a job where we can be so active and healthy. Professional Goals I believe that kids should be introduced and challenged to make healthy decisions through sports and activities while eating a variety of healthy foods.
