Bio
-
My name is Zari Rezaei. I was born in Iran and was raised in
Isfahan. When I got married, I moved to Tehran, the capitol of
Iran.
My Bachelor’s Degree is in World History from the University of
Tehran. I also got my teaching credentials. Then I worked as a
classroom teacher for 6th and 7th grade students in Tehran.
My husband was a student in Tehran and upon graduation in
he had to take a rigorous test to qualify for graduate
school in the US. He passed the test, applied and was accepted
to the University of California, Davis. Our lives changed
drastically moving from Iran to the United States with just the
difference in culture alone. Even though my husband and I
knew this was a new and different experience for us, we came
with an open mind to live and to learn as much as we could
here. Fortunately, I found some good friends who made me feel
welcome. While my husband was a student, I took some
classes myself. I earned 62 units in addition to my teaching
degree and I was able to teach 5th , 6th, and 7th grade in a
bi-lingual middle school in Sacramento.
I love and enjoy working with the all students at Sanborn.
I’m amazed at how much I learn from my students and I hope
they learn as much from me. It’s so rewarding to see their
smiles every day and the smiles leave me with a warm feeling
that touches my heart.
My husband and are proud parents of two daughters and a son. Our
children live in California and New York and we try to visit each other as often
as we can.
In my free time at home, I love plants and gardening. I love
cooking and especially enjoy making some of my home dishes
from Iran.
My passion is to have the students I work with be happy and
enjoy learning. I am so grateful for my job at Sanborn for
allowing me to work with the students every day and witness
their educational growth.
