PLEASE CHECK THE BOTTOM OF THIS EMAIL FOR A LIST OF UPCOMING EVENTS SO THAT YOU CAN PLAN ACCORDINGLY!!
Hello Dragon Families,
As we move into the final stretch of the school year, it’s a great time to reflect on the incredible academic and personal growth our students have made. There is a strong sense of energy throughout the building as students continue to work hard and finish the year strong. It has been exciting to see how much our Dragons have grown, both in and out of the classroom.
One of the highlights this spring was our Drama Club’s performance of Alice in Wonderland. Under the direction of Ms. Ewing and Mrs. Sky, our students put on an outstanding show. Their confidence, talent, and hard work were on full display, and it was a proud moment for our entire school community.
We still have several fun and meaningful events ahead. The PASS Ice Cream Social will take place on May 14 at 6:00-7:00 PM. Families are encouraged to bring cash if they would like to purchase items from our Young Entrepreneurs. We are also looking forward to New Games Day, where our 5th graders design and lead games for younger students, along with the always exciting Staff vs. 5th Grade Kickball Game. Our final Sanborn Scoop will be shared on May 19th.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership throughout the year. It truly makes a difference for our students. Let’s make these last few weeks meaningful and memorable for our Dragons.
Sincerely,
Lori Peeples
Principal

iPads to Go Home for the Summer FOR ALL GRADES
Please be aware that your student will be bringing home their school-issued iPad for the summer break. This way, each student is able to use the device for various school needs throughout the summer. Please be sure to have your student take proper care of the device and bring it back to their school at the start of the next school year. You also might consider, if you have not done so already, to purchase iPad insurance. See below.

The district is offering Half Year iPad insurance for new students, as well as current students who did not opt into insurance at the beginning of the school year.
As new students enroll, they will automatically be assigned the $12.50 fee with an expiration date of 2 weeks. Parents will have 2 weeks to pay the fee before it is automatically voided.
For existing students who did not opt in at beginning of the school year, parents can pay for insurance for the remainder of the school year for $12.50. THE IPAD WILL HAVE TO BE INSPECTED AT SCHOOL BEFORE WE CAN OFFER THAT INSURANCE TO YOU. ALSO–ALL UNPAID INSURANCE FEE BALANCES MUST BE PAID.
If you have any questions, please call our office at 303-772-3838. Thank you!!!

A note from the health office: Please make sure all medication is picked up by Thursday, May 21st. Per district policy, medication cannot be sent home with students and must be signed out by a parent. Any medication not picked up will be destroyed. Office hours are 7:30-3:30. Please contact Heather Huizenga with any questions. If your student has borrowed any clothing from the health office, please wash and return these items.

Last Day of School-Farewell Picnic: We will host our End of The School Year Farewell Picnic on May 21st from 11:30-12:30. Families are welcome to come and bring lunch to enjoy a picnic by our playground. If you would like to come enjoy lunch with your student on this last day of school, please note our procedures for this event:
**Please do not check into the front office. Instead, you will need to go to the back field area to find your child’s teacher. The back field will be divided by grades with signs. (If you have multiple students in different grades/classes, you will need to sign one out to sit with another student/grade). If you decide that you would like your student(s) to leave after the picnic, you will need to SIGN them out from their teacher. Each teacher will have a sign-out sheet. If your student will not be leaving, please do not sign them out, and they will return with their teacher to the class after the picnic.

DRAGON DROPS-Finishing the Year Strong
The end of the year can feel like a countdown to summer, but it’s important to finish strong. Encourage your child to stay focused on their goals, complete assignments, and participate fully in class. Celebrate their progress and effort—it’s a great way to keep motivation high until the last day of school.
