THE SANBORN SCOOP 5-19-26

Dear Dragon Families,

As we come to the close of another wonderful school year, I want to take a moment to sincerely thank you for being part of such an incredible journey. This year has been filled with growth, learning, laughter, and so many special memories. Watching our students grow academically, socially, and emotionally has been one of the greatest joys of the year.

The heart of Sanborn has always been our people. Our dedicated staff, supportive families, and amazing students continue to make this such a special place to learn and grow. Thank you for your partnership, encouragement, and trust throughout the year. Together, we have created a school community where Dragons truly SOAR.

As we look ahead to next year, we are filled with excitement and optimism for what is to come. At the same time, we will also be saying goodbye to several cherished staff members, students, and families who have been important parts of our Dragon family. While farewells are never easy, we are grateful for the impact they have made on our school and wish them nothing but success and happiness in their new adventures.

Change can bring many emotions, but it also brings new opportunities, fresh beginnings, and exciting possibilities. We are eager to welcome new Dragons into our lair while continuing to honor the friendships, memories, and traditions that make Sanborn so special.

As summer begins, I hope your days are filled with relaxation, laughter, and meaningful time with family and friends. Thank you for an amazing school year and for allowing us to be part of your child’s journey.

We hope you will join us for our Farewell Picnic this Thursday at 11:30 AM as we celebrate a fantastic year together and say goodbye to cherished friends and staff members.

Once a Dragon, always a Dragon… and Dragons ALWAYS SOAR!Sincerely,
Mrs. Peeples
Principal

Last Day of School-Farewell Picnic: We will host our End of The School Year Farewell Picnic on May 21st from 11:30-12:30.  Families are welcome to come and bring lunch to enjoy a picnic by our playground.  If you would like to come enjoy lunch with your student on this last day of school, please note our procedures for this event:

**Please do not check into the front office.  Instead, you will need to go to the back field area to find your child’s teacher.  The back field will be divided by grades with signs.  (If you have multiple students in different grades/classes, you will need to sign one out to sit with another student/grade).   If you decide that you would like your student(s) to leave after the picnic, you will need to SIGN them out from their teacher.  Each teacher will have a sign-out sheet.  If your student will not be leaving, please do not sign them out, and they will return with their teacher to the class after the picnic.

iPads to Go Home for the Summer FOR ALL GRADES

Please be aware that your student will be bringing home their school-issued iPad for the summer break.  This way, each student is able to use the device for various school needs throughout the summer.  Please be sure to have your student take proper care of the device and bring it back to their school at the start of the next school year. You also might consider, if you have not done so already, to purchase iPad insurance. See below.

The district is offering Half Year iPad insurance for new students, as well as current students who did not opt into insurance at the beginning of the school year.

As new students enroll, they will automatically be assigned the $12.50 fee with an expiration date of 2 weeks.  Parents will have 2 weeks to pay the fee before it is automatically voided.

For existing students who did not opt in at beginning of the school year, parents can pay for insurance for the remainder of the school year and over the summer for $12.50.  THE IPAD WILL HAVE TO BE INSPECTED AT SCHOOL BEFORE WE CAN OFFER THAT INSURANCE TO YOU. ALSO–ALL UNPAID INSURANCE FEE BALANCES MUST BE PAID.

If you have any questions, please call our office at 303-772-3838.  Thank you!!!

Reflecting on Growth
Take time to reflect on the year with your child. Ask what they are most proud of and what they learned, both academically and personally. Reflecting helps students appreciate their growth and sets the stage for future success. End the year on a positive note by recognizing how far they’ve come!
