Estimadas familias:

We’re officially in full swing with CMAS testing, and our students are showing up each day ready to do their best! Our staff and students have been working hard to prepare, and we’re proud of the focus, determination, and resilience we’re seeing. As testing continues, we encourage you to keep checking in with your student—ask how they’re feeling, offer encouragement, and remind them that their effort matters. A calm and positive evening routine, a good night’s sleep, and a healthy breakfast can go a long way in helping them feel confident and prepared each morning.

April and May are such important months as students not only take assessments but also work toward meeting their end-of-year goals. It’s a time to reflect on their growth and celebrate how far they’ve come. Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and partnership—we couldn’t do this without you!

CMAS Testing is Underway!
The CMAS (Colorado Measures of Academic Success) testing window began today! This week, 3rd–5th grade students are taking Math sessions today through Thursday, followed by English Language Arts on Friday, Monday, and Tuesday. 5th grade students will then take Science sessions next Wednesday and Thursday. Please continue to encourage your child to get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and give their best effort each day!  These assessments provide valuable information about your child’s academic progress and help teachers tailor instruction to better support their needs. They also give families a clear picture of how students are performing compared to grade-level expectations.

Sanborn’s 2024-25 Teacher of the Year – Mrs. Teresa Frye!
We are thrilled to announce that Sanborn’s Teacher of the Year is Mrs. Teresa Frye! The Celebration of Excellence (formerly Tribute to Teachers) is a special event hosted by the St. Vrain Education Foundation to honor educators who go above and beyond to make a lasting impact on students, schools, and the community. Based on nominations from students, families, staff, and community members, one teacher from each school is selected for this incredible honor—and this year, we proudly celebrate Mrs. Frye!  Mrs. Frye has been an essential and deeply valued member of our Sanborn family, working with passion and dedication in our special education department. Her experience, expertise, and unwavering commitment to student growth have made her a trusted resource and a constant source of support for students, families, and staff. She builds strong relationships and works tirelessly to ensure every child feels seen, supported, and successful. We’ve always known how exceptional she is, and we’re thrilled that the greater St. Vrain community now gets to celebrate her, too.  Thank you, Mrs. Frye, for all you do—you are a true Dragon, and this honor is so well deserved!

Sanborn Yearbook Club – A Student-Led Success!
We are so proud of our Sanborn Yearbook Club, sponsored by three amazing Sanborn parents—Kelly Bradbury, Elicia Strazzeri, and Cameron Hunter. This club includes 17 hardworking 5th-grade students who have worked together to organize, design, and create this year’s Sanborn Yearbook, which will be delivered in May to those who pre-ordered.  Their creativity, teamwork, and commitment truly shine through in this project, and it’s incredible to see our students take on such a meaningful task that aligns with our entrepreneurial values—planning, collaboration, problem-solving, and pride in their work. The yearbook is a cherished keepsake, and knowing that it was made by our students makes it even more special. A huge thank you to our dedicated parent sponsors for generously giving their time and support to guide this club, and to our students for their amazing efforts and energy. What a great example of Sanborn spirit and innovation! We look forward to seeing the finished product!

Las Escuelas del Valle de St. Vrain celebrarán su exposición de arte anual en el pabellón de exposiciones del recinto ferial del condado de Boulder. Se invita a los vecinos a visitar la exposición, en la que se podrán contemplar las obras de los alumnos de todos los cursos y centros del distrito, del 15 al 20 de abril.

El evento es gratuito y está abierto al público:

• Exposición al público:del martes 15 de abril al sábado 19 de abril, de 9:00 a 20:00, y el domingo 20 de abril, de 9:00 a 14:00.
• Jornada de puertas abiertas de la Noche de los Artistas:jueves, 17 de abril, de 17:00 a 18:30.

Les invitamos a acompañarnos para celebrar el talento, el esfuerzo y la dedicación de nuestros alumnos. Se expondrán obras realizadas en diversos medios, entre los que se incluyen la cerámica, el arte digital y la fotografía, el dibujo, la joyería, la orfebrería, las técnicas mixtas, la pintura y el grabado.

Celebra la Semana del Niño Pequeño en la Feria de Recursos para la Familia, el 10 de abril

Acompáñanos en una interesante Feria de Recursos Familiares pensada para los niños pequeños y sus familias. Disfrute de actividades prácticas, conozca los programas locales, visite el Laboratorio Móvil de Innovación de St. Vrain y explore los recursos comunitarios. Este evento tendrá lugar en Timberline PK-8 jueves 10 Timberline PK-8 abril de 16:00 a 18:00 y contará con divertidos obsequios y actividades para llevar a casa. No se pierda esta oportunidad de celebrar el aprendizaje temprano y los lazos familiares.

¡Te invitamos a que te unas a nosotros en el Centro de Innovación el martes 6 de mayo para celebrar nuestra STEM anual! Habrá STEM , una sección «Make and Take» y STEM específicos sobre STEM en cada una de nuestras áreas de interés, que incluyen: Inteligencia Artificial, Aeroespacial, Biociencias, Ciberseguridad, Diseño Digital y Virtual, Emprendimiento, Robótica y Producción de Vídeo.  Además, tendremos STEM al aire libre a gran escala, el Gremio de Diseño Estudiantil y los Juegos de Carnaval de Cartón. Cómo fomentar una mentalidad de crecimiento en tu hijo

Teaching your child to develop a growth mindset—believing that abilities can be improved through effort and persistence—can have a lasting impact on their success. Encourage them to embrace challenges as opportunities to learn and grow, rather than as obstacles to avoid. Praise their efforts, not just their achievements, and remind them that mistakes are part of the learning process. When they encounter setbacks, help them reframe their thinking by asking, “What can you learn from this?” By fostering a growth mindset, you’re helping your child build resilience, perseverance, and a lifelong love of learning.
