Dear Dragon Families
As November, a month of gratitude, continues, I want to take a moment to share how incredibly grateful I am to serve as the principal of such a wonderful school. Every day, I feel honored to partner with this amazing community in supporting our students’ growth and success.
Yesterday’s Veterans Day celebration was a powerful reminder of the strength of our Sanborn family. Our SOARing Singing Dragons led us in a beautiful rendition of the national anthem, filling our hearts with pride and respect. It was truly special to gather together as a school around the flagpole to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, honoring our veterans and reflecting on the freedoms we hold dear.
I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you for the tremendous support you showed during our recent fundraiser! Thanks to the generosity and participation of our Dragon community, we raised over $19,000—an incredible accomplishment that will go a long way in providing enriching experiences and resources for our students. We couldn’t do it without your involvement and dedication.
Finally, I’d like to wish each of you a wonderful Thanksgiving break from November 25th to the 29th. May you have a restful time with family and friends, enjoying the beauty of fall while it lasts. Thank you for your continued partnership and support—we truly have a lot to be thankful for here at Sanborn!
Warm regards,
Lori Peeples

Promoting Gratitude and Kindness in Your Child
November is a great time to focus on gratitude and kindness, both of which are vital to building strong character. Talk to your child about the importance of being thankful, and encourage them to express appreciation for the people and things that bring them joy. Model kindness by performing small acts of service together, whether that’s writing thank you notes or helping others in the community. Practicing gratitude can lead to greater happiness and contentment, as children learn to focus on the positives in life. At school, students who are kind and considerate often have better peer relationships, which contributes to a positive learning environment.
