Dear Dragons,
What a joy it was to listen to our students lead their own Student-Led Conferences last week! Seeing them take ownership of their learning, reflect on their progress, and confidently share their goals was truly inspiring. These experiences help build important skills like public speaking and self-advocacy, aligning perfectly with our entrepreneurial mindset.
As we approach the end of the grading period on February 21st, we encourage students to finish strong. The third trimester begins on February 24th, bringing new opportunities for growth and achievement.
We are also excited to celebrate Read Across America on February 28th, where special guest readers will visit our classrooms to share their love of reading with our students.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child’s education. We appreciate all you do to make our school community a wonderful place to learn and grow!
Warm regards,
Lori Peeples
Principal, Sanborn Elementary

Join us on Zoom, Feb. 20 from 5-6:30 p.m.
Adolescent RISE with Nicholas Thompson, Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Adolescent RISE is a presentation that takes a fun and informative look at the developmental period of adolescence (ages 10-25). It includes debunking myths about adolescence, understanding the four qualities of adolescence (risk taking, identity formation, social reorientation, and emotional intensity), and learning about the tweenage brain. With this foundation established, ways to better support our kids will be discussed.
Please register online to assist with planning purposes.

2nd Trimester Report Cards: Important Update on Report Cards
The 2nd-trimester report cards will be sent home in Tuesday folders on March 4th. However, this will be the last printed report card we distribute. Beginning with the 3rd trimester, parents will need to access their child’s report card through Infinite Campus (IC).
We will provide detailed instructions on how to access report cards in IC, but we wanted to give you an early heads-up about this transition. Moving forward—into next year and beyond—all report cards will be available exclusively online through IC.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Peeples or Sarah Adams in our front office. Thank you for your support as we make this transition!

Hey Sanborn Families! It’s that time of year again when we participate in The Healthy Kids 5210+ Challenge. We will be talking about the program and healthy choices in their P.E. class. In the last 3 years Sanborn has won over $2000 in prize money for having the highest participation. We have used those funds, along with support from PASS, to bring Square State Skate to our school. Let’s go for another winning year AND encourage a healthy lifestyle! Go Dragons!

The Importance of Regular Attendance
Consistent school attendance is one of the most important factors in your child’s academic success. Missing just a few days of school can lead to gaps in learning and make it difficult for students to catch up with their peers. Establish the expectation that attending school is a priority, and only keep your child home when they’re truly ill. If they express reluctance to go to school, talk with them about any concerns they have and work together to find solutions. By emphasizing the importance of being present, you’re setting them up for a strong foundation in their education.
