10-28-25
Dear Dragon Families,
What an incredible success our 40th Anniversary and Open House turned out to be! It was amazing to see so many people in our school—alumni, current families, and community members—all coming together to celebrate Sanborn. The smiles, stories, and school pride filled every hallway. Thank you for being part of such a special evening! I know our students will remember it for years to come…Dragons rule!
Looking ahead, our Halloween/Fall Dress-Up Parade is coming up this Friday at 8:45 a.m. The parade will start at the front doors and make its way around to the back playground, weather permitting. We can’t wait to see all the fun and festive costumes!
We’re also wrapping up our Dragon Dash Fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who has already participated and supported our school! We’re just short of our goal, so if you haven’t had a chance to find donors yet, there’s still time this week. Every contribution helps our students and programs.
November will be here before we know it, bringing Thanksgiving Break and then our Middle of the Year diagnostic testing. Enjoy the fall colors and this wonderful season….it’s a great time to be a Dragon!
Sincerely,
Lori Peeples
Principal

Halloween/ Fall Fun and Costume Parade
Costume Parade: Friday, October 31st, from 8:45-9:15AM. Sanborn will be having our annual Fall/Halloween Parade! Students can come dressed in their costumes to school and participate in a “parade” around our school. The parade will take place outside. We will have our students start the parade by exiting the building out of the front door. The line will start with kindergarten and the rest of the grades will follow in order. The parade will walk around the side of the building toward the “Drive Up” side (23rd street). Students will stay on the sidewalks. The route will head toward the blacktop at the playground and circle around the blacktop play area. That will be the conclusion of the parade. At that time, we will take the students inside for them to continue their day. Please remember to send in a change of clothes for your student(s) so their costumes stay in good shape for later!
Snacks: If you choose to send in snacks for your child’s class, please note that we can only allow for commercially produced, individually wrapped Halloween treats/drinks.
For costumes- please avoid “gory” costumes. Please note that students are not allowed to have any items that are considered “weapons” that go with the costume. Please also send in a change of clothes with your student so they can change out of their costume after the parade.

DRAGON DROPS
(Welcome to *Dragon Drops*—your quick dose of helpful tips and info to support you and your child throughout the school year. In each newsletter, this section will offer little drops of advice, ideas, and reminders to help guide your family on the path to success, one step at a time!)
Finding Time to Talk..
One of the simplest and most powerful ways to connect with your child is to eat together as a family. Whether it’s dinner, breakfast, or even a weekend picnic, shared meals give everyone a chance to talk about the day, share stories, and laugh together. These conversations help strengthen family bonds, build your child’s verbal communication skills, and give you insight into their daily interactions at school and with friends. Try asking open-ended questions like, “What was the best part of your day?” or “Did anything surprise you today?” You can also make mealtime fun with themed dinners, cooking together, or even sharing a snack while reading a story.

100 Mile Club is a wonderful opportunity for students to participate in physical activity which will help them better focus on their learning, and develop an appreciation for running.
