Dear Dragon Families,
As the crisp air of fall settles in and the leaves begin to change, we are filled with excitement for the upcoming Sanborn Fall Parade! It’s a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the spirit of the season. In our classrooms, students are deeply engaged in powerful instruction, focusing on the goals they set at the beginning of the year as we prepare for our mid-year assessments in December. Their dedication and hard work are truly inspiring!
We’re also thrilled to share the incredible news that our school has reached its fundraising goal of $15,000, with efforts continuing to surpass expectations! In celebration, we will hold an Inflatable Costume Staff Race. For every new fundraising milestone we reach, PASS will purchase additional costumes for more staff members to join the race! We are so grateful for the tremendous support from our Sanborn community, which has made this achievement possible. These funds will play a crucial role in ensuring that Sanborn remains the best elementary school in the district.
Thank you for your continued support and for being an essential part of our Sanborn family.
Warm regards,
Lori Peeples
Principal, Sanborn Elementary

SANBORN SPIRIT WEEK
Fall/ Halloween Fun and Parade: Thursday, October 31st from 8:45-9:15AM Sanborn will be having our annual Fall/Halloween Parade! Students can come dressed in their costumes to school and participate in a “parade” around our school. The parade will take place outside. We will have our students start the parade by exiting the building out of the front door. The line will start with preschool, then kindergarten and 1st grade will follow. Then will be 2nd grade with 3rd, 4th , and 5th grade following in order. The parade will walk around the side of the building toward the “Drive Up” side-. Students will stay on the sidewalks. The route will head toward the blacktop and circle around the blacktop play area. That will be the conclusion of the parade. At that time, we will take the students inside. Costumes/Snacks: If you choose to send in snacks for your child’s class, please note that we can only allow for commercially produced, individually wrapped Halloween treats/drinks. For costumes- please avoid “gory” costumes. Please note that students are not allowed to have any items that are considered “weapons” that go with the costume. Please also send in a change of clothes with your student so they can change out of their costume after the parade.

We encourage you to discuss any questions and make a plan to support their growth in key areas as we move forward.

Social Media Awareness Around Young Students
The minimum age for social media is set at 13, as these platforms are crafted for older audiences, often containing content that can be inappropriate or confusing for younger students. Children under 13 typically lack the developmental maturity to interpret social media responsibly, and exposure can introduce adult themes or language that isn’t suitable. Additionally, research shows that early exposure to social media can lead to issues like anxiety, sleep disturbances, and difficulty concentrating, as young minds are highly impressionable. It’s important to be mindful if older siblings, relatives, or friends use social media around your child, as creating these boundaries helps foster a safe, supportive environment for healthy development.
