I am a Colorado native (eleven generations-my family came here from Spain in the 1660’s when this area was still Mexico). I grew up in Louisville, Colorado. I have taught middle school English, Spanish and Social Studies for 28 years all in the St. Vrain Valley District at Heritage (now Timberline), Longs Peak, and Trail Ridge Middle Schools. I have sponsored over 18 educational tours with students, visiting Europe, South America, and several tours to Washington D.C., Florida (Technology and Space), Alaska and Hawaii. I love working with elementary students and enjoy their high energy, wit and great sense of storytelling along with humor.
I am happy to serve Sanborn Elementary in order to help keep the children of my school, neighborhood and community safe.
When I am not at school, I am practicing yoga, volunteering at the Longmont Community Restorative Justice Program, or I am gardening, traveling with my husband and cooking New Mexican food. I love spending time with my big family!
