THE SANBORN SCOOP 4-14-26

Hello Dragon Families,

As we close in on our final CMAS testing sessions, I want to share how proud we are of our students for giving their very best effort. They have shown focus, perseverance, and a commitment to doing their best. Thank you to our staff for the thoughtful preparation and support they have provided to ensure students have felt confident and ready. As we enter the final month of the school year, we are excited for the many fun and memorable end-of-year activities ahead. At the same time, students in kindergarten through fifth grade will complete their final diagnostic assessments, which will help them reflect on their progress toward end-of-year achievement and growth goals. Please continue to encourage your student to stay focused and give their best effort! Dragons SOAR!

Best Regards,

Lori Peeples

Principal

CMAS Testing Window

Between April 7th – April 24th, 2026, Colorado students in grades 3 through 5 will be participating in CMAS, which measures student proficiency on the Colorado Academic Standards. These standards serve as clear guidelines for what students should know and be able to do by the end of the academic year across various grade levels and subject areas. The assessments cover English language arts and math for grades 3-5, and science for grade 5. CMAS is a critical tool in assessing student progress and ensuring that our educational system is meeting the needs of our students. To help your child perform their best on these assessments, it is essential that they are well-rested and present during their scheduled testing. To avoid missed instruction due to makeup testing, we kindly request that appointments and vacations be scheduled for non-testing days.

The Power of Outdoor Play
Longer days mean more time to play outside! Outdoor play boosts mood, reduces stress, and improves concentration. Encourage your child to ride a bike, play a sport, or just explore nature. Movement and fresh air help recharge the brain for better learning.
